  2. All required Certifications
  3. Electronically attach a copy of your Valid Texas driver’s license Applicants for the Firefighter Position must attach a copy of their Valid Texas Class A, B, or C Driver’s License

Compensation:

  • Firefighter: $65,338.50 (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Driver: $75,975.00 (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)
  • Captain: $91,170.00 (includes base pay and regularly occurring FLSA estimated overtime)

  • Full-Time Department: No Part-Time Fire Operations Personnel
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Personnel Earn 9.231 Hours Per Pay Period (240 Hours Per Year), Annual Automatic Buy Back of Accrued PTO that Exceeds 96 Hours
  • TCDRS Retirement: Employee Contribution 7% Employer Match X 2.5, 5-Year Vesting
  • TMRS Accrued Time: Can Be Applied to Vesting Time and Retirement Time
  • Deferred Compensation Plan: Available for Employee to Make Contributions
  • Employer Provided Insurance – Employer Pays 100% for Employee: Medical, Dental, Vision Maintenance Plan, Short-Term Disability, Cancer/Heart/Accidental Death (Based on Annual Pay), Accidental Death and Dismemberment Supplement (Based on Annual Pay), EAP with Accidental $15,000 Accidental Death Supplement
  • Employer Provided Dependent/Family Medical Insurance: Employer Pays 25% of Employee Dependent/Family Medical, Dental Insurance, and Vision Maintenance Plan
  • Uniforms and PPE: Employer Provided Uniforms and PPE
  • Shift Schedule: 1/3/2/3 Fire Department Schedule

Must Meet or Exceed Minimum Qualifications to be considered Eligible for Employment (SEE BELOW)

Firefighter Minimum Qualifications:

  • 19 Years Old or Older
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B Certification
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License

Driver Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of verifiable TCFP Service Time
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B Certification
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
  • If 21 Years Old at Time of Employment – Obtain a Texas Class B Commercial License Permit within 90 Days of Employment
  • Obtain a TCFP Driver Operator Pumper (DOP) Certification within One Year of Employment, if 21 Year’s Old at Time of Employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • TCFP Fire Instructor 1
  • TCFP Fire Officer 1
  • TCFP Driver Operator Aerial

Captain Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 years of verifiable TCFP Service Time
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of a TCFP Basic Structural Fire Suppression Certification
  • TCFP Fire Officer 1
  • TCFP Fire Instructor 1
  • TCFP Driver Operator Pumper
  • Obtained a Courage to be Safe Certification
  • Obtained a National Highway Institute – Traffic Incident Management Certification
  • Minimum of a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) EMT-B Certification
  • Minimum NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 Certification
  • Minimum Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • NIMS 300 and 400 Certification
  • TCFP Fire Officer 2
  • TCFP Fire Instructor 2
